Dr Chetan Patel
Dr Patel is a Cosmetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgeon based in the Garden Route town of George. Dr Patel’s practice is located at the George Surgical Centre.
Dr Patel qualified in 2009, beginning his private practice career at the Glynwood Hospital in Benoni before moving to Sandton Mediclinic in 2011 where he worked closely with Drs Tom Ford and Roger Nicholson. 10 years later he moved to George for a more balanced lifestyle and new challenges.
Dr Patel furthered his training in hand surgery as an International Travelling Fellow to the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) in 2016. He followed this with a visit to the world renowned orthopaedic and plastic surgery Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore, India under Dr Raja Sabapathy.
Dr Patel specialises in Cosmetic, Dermatological, Oculoplastic and Hand Surgery within the George Surgical Centre, a multidisciplinary state of the art day surgery unit.
Oculoplastic surgery is done in conjunction with the well known Garden Route Eye Clinic Ophthalmologists (Drs Roux, Faul, Meyer and Botha), involving all eyelid and periorbital surgery.
A close association with the dermatology practice of Drs Heinrich van Rensburg and Willem Fouche has resulted in a comprehensive dermatological surgery service including melanoma and other skin and soft tissue cancers.
Together with Drs PC Pelser and Pieter Jordaan of the Garden Route Hand Unit, Dr Patel provides a hand reconstructive surgery service for complex hand trauma and secondary hand deformities.
Dr Patel focuses on breast and facial aesthetic surgery utilising combination surgical techniques to enhance outcomes.
